Before I compare venues, I ask myself one thing: what should this event be for the people who come? The answer changes almost everything that follows.

A team day or offsite thrives on an atmosphere that lifts you out of the everyday – a place that feels different from the office, with room to talk and breathe. A Christmas or summer party above all needs an inviting mood, good food and enough space to come together. A client or networking event may represent and stay memorable. Catering and food. Good food is often, at a corporate event, what people remember most fondly. Clarify early whether the venue offers its own catering, allows external providers and what options there are for drinks and coffee.

Flexibility for the program. Does your event need tech for presentations? Space for activities? An indoor and outdoor area? A good venue adapts to your program instead of limiting it – ask specifically what's possible.

Access and parking. In the Ortenau, most guests come by car. Parking right on site, a good connection to the A5 and charging options for electric cars make the difference between a relaxed and a rushed arrival.

Offenburg as a location for events

Offenburg lies centrally in the Ortenau and is easily reachable by motorway and rail – also for guests from Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg and the surrounding area. That makes the region a practical meeting point for corporate events whose participants travel from different places.

If you prefer something quieter and more special, it's worth looking beyond the city limits. Schutterwald, for instance, lies directly west of Offenburg – centrally reachable, but with the space and nature that an inner-city location rarely offers.
